Despacito by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song most streamed at the time within less than six months. This mix of reggaeton and pop music has not only brought interest back to this genre but also to Latin music in general. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs mostly in Spanish as of 2016, in contrast to two in 2015. But during the peak of Despacito's fame in 2017 there were 19 mainly Spanish songs that were included in the Top 100. In 2020, there were 41. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with an English version in the year 2017 shortly after which popular artists began working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018), while Madonna worked on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). The mainstreaming of reggaeton was a concern for some performers during the year the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, wanted to preserve the style. The group incorporated elements from different styles and electronic music.
