Ruth Roman, a screen actress who made her electricity charged combination of sexiness and wholesomeness into Hollywood famous in the 1950s and the 1940s. She passed away this week at her residence in Laguna Beach, Calif. She was 75 years old. Her death was at home, according to her son, Richard Hall. Warner Brothers offered her nine parts in the two years after her first part in Stanley Kramer's "Champion The Champion,' a novelized 1949 version by Ring Lardner of a maniacal fighter short story. In one day she leaped from collaborating with Bette Davis in "Beyond the Forest'' and then starring alongside Milton Berle in ''Always Leave Them Laughing.'' After completing a role in 'Strangers of a Train in which she starred opposite Robert Walker she was recruited to play Steve Cochran in 'Tomorrow Is Another Day.
